Public Health and Preventive Medicine Residency Program
Thanks for your interest in the University of Ottawa!
The Public Health and Preventive Medicine postgraduate program at the University of Ottawa is a RCPSC accredited 5-year residency program. We offer the opportunity for residents to receive comprehensive Public Health and Preventive Medicine training while living and working in a beautiful city.
Our educational program has been carefully crafted to offer residents the best learning opportunities, taking full advantage of our exceptional access to a number of local and federal departments and agencies, enabling our residents to participate in many interesting elective rotations. We also offer a variety of training opportunities in both official languages. Our aim is to prepare residents to practice Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the local, regional and national levels. Residents will gradually assume greater levels of responsibility throughout the course of the program including serving as senior resident on the Residency Program Committee and time spent functioning as a consultant and/or Medical Officer of Health.
Many recreational and cultural opportunities exist in Ottawa and surrounding areas, and residents are encouraged to take advantage of what this community has to offer in their pursuit of a healthy work-life balance.
Please visit the CaRMS web site for further information about applying to our Public Health and Preventive Medicine Residency Program.
