Undergraduate Medical Curriculum
In the first and second year of the undergraduate medical curriculum, community health and epidemiologic topics are included in the Individual and Population Health (I&PH) component through the 13 Teaching blocks of the curriculum. The I&PH component is coordinated by members of the Department. Themes include:

As much as possible, I&PH themes are integrated with the block program of the week. Although certain topics do not lend themselves to an easy fit, problem-based learning tutors are expected to cover community health issues when discussing the problem of the week.
Third Year
In the third year, the Department is responsible for sessions held within the Ambulatory Care rotation. These include a community visit to a community health centre, prevention seminars and sessions on occupational health, on smoking cessation and on multicultural health.
